Pool Automation Installation & Service

Which pool automation system is best?

It depends on your equipment and goals. Pentair IntelliCenter, Hayward OmniLogic and Jandy AquaLink are all excellent platforms. If most of your equipment is one brand, staying with that brand usually gives the best integration. We will recommend the right fit after looking at your equipment pad.

Can automation be added to my existing pool?

Yes. Most existing pools can be automated without replacing all of the equipment. We check your pump, heater, lighting and electrical panel and tell you exactly what is needed.

Do you repair automation systems someone else installed?

Yes. A large share of our work is repairing and reprogramming systems installed by other companies, including communication errors, failed relays, dead boards and lost Wi-Fi connections.

Do you work with other pool companies?

Yes. We regularly partner with pool service and construction companies on automation installs, upgrades and troubleshooting.

Pentair Automation Installation & Repair

Should I repair my EasyTouch or upgrade to IntelliCenter?

If the problem is a simple relay or setting, repair makes sense. If the main board has failed or you want better app control and expandability, upgrading to IntelliCenter is usually the better long-term investment. We will price both options for you.

Why does my IntelliFlo pump not respond to the controller?

Usually the communication cable, pump address or controller configuration is the issue. These are common service calls and can typically be fixed on site.

Can I control my Pentair pool from my phone?

Yes. With IntelliCenter, or with IntelliConnect / ScreenLogic on supported systems, you can control your pump, heater, lights and more from the Pentair Home app.

Hayward Automation Installation & Repair

Can I add app control to my existing Hayward equipment?

Often yes. Depending on your equipment, an OmniHub or an upgrade to OmniLogic or OmniPL can add phone control to your pool.

Is my ProLogic system worth repairing?

If the issue is a sensor, relay or setting, repair is usually worthwhile. If the main board has failed, upgrading to OmniLogic is often the smarter long-term choice.

Do you install Hayward variable-speed pumps?

Yes. We install and program TriStar and MaxFlo variable-speed pumps and connect them to your automation system.

Jandy Automation Installation & Repair

Why does my Jandy AquaLink show a communication error?

Common causes are a loose or damaged communication cable, a failing board or a device that has lost power. We test each part of the chain to find the cause.

Can I control my Jandy system from my phone?

Yes. Most AquaLink RS systems can be connected to the iAquaLink app with the right interface hardware.

Do you service Jandy heaters and pumps?

Yes. We repair and replace Jandy heaters, variable-speed pumps and salt systems.

Pool Automation for Jersey Shore Rentals

Can I control my rental pool from another state?

Yes. As long as the automation system is connected to the home Wi-Fi, you can control and monitor it from anywhere through the manufacturer app.

Can I stop guests from changing the heater temperature?

Most automation systems let you limit or lock settings at the control panel, and you can always see and override changes from the app.

Do you work with property managers?

Yes. We can set up shared access for your property manager and coordinate service directly with them.

Pool Equipment Installation

Which pool pump should I buy?

For most pools a variable-speed pump is the best choice. It runs quietly at low speed most of the day and uses far less energy than a single-speed pump. We size the pump to your pool and plumbing.

Do you install equipment I already purchased?

In many cases yes. Call us with the model and we will confirm it fits your pool and plumbing before scheduling.

Do you install equipment for other pool companies?

Yes. We handle equipment and electrical installs for pool service and construction companies throughout New Jersey.

Pool Equipment Repair

Why does my pool pump keep shutting off?

Common causes are an overheating motor, a clogged basket or impeller, a failing capacitor, or a GFCI or breaker that is tripping. A technician can test each of these on site.

Why does my pool breaker or GFCI keep tripping?

Water in a light fixture, a failing motor, damaged wiring or a worn GFCI are the usual suspects. This is a safety issue - turn the equipment off and have it inspected.

Do you repair all brands?

Yes. We repair Pentair, Hayward, Jandy, Raypak, Sta-Rite and other major brands.

Pool Pumps, Filters & Motors

How long should my pool pump run each day?

Most residential pools should turn over the full water volume at least once a day. With a variable-speed pump that usually means longer run times at low speed. We set schedules based on your pool size and usage.

Should I replace the motor or the whole pump?

If the pump is newer, replacing the motor or seal is usually fine. On older single-speed pumps, replacing the whole pump with a variable-speed model is typically the better value.

How often should a filter be replaced?

Filter cartridges typically last 2 to 4 seasons, sand every 5 to 7 years, and DE grids several years with proper cleaning.

Pool Heaters & Heat Pumps

How long does a pool heater last?

Gas heaters typically last 6 to 12 years and heat pumps 10 to 15 years with good maintenance. Balanced water chemistry makes a big difference.

Why does my heater turn on and off?

Short cycling is often caused by low water flow, a dirty filter, a faulty pressure switch or a thermostat setting. A technician can diagnose it on site.

Can I control my heater from my phone?

Yes, when it is connected to an automation system with app control.

Pool Light Replacement & LED Upgrades

How much does pool light replacement cost in NJ?

Cost depends on the fixture type, cord length, whether the niche needs work and whether you choose white or color LED. Call for a quick quote - most replacements are completed in a single visit.

Do you have to drain the pool to replace a light?

Usually not. Most pool lights have enough cord to be pulled up to the deck and replaced without draining.

Why does my pool light trip the GFCI?

Most often water has entered the fixture or the cord is damaged. It is a safety warning - leave the light off and have it inspected.

Can my new lights be controlled from my phone?

Yes, when they are connected to an automation system with app control. We can set that up at the same visit.

Weekly Pool Service

How much does weekly pool service cost in New Jersey?

Pricing depends on pool size, type and tree cover. Request a free quote and we will give you a flat weekly price.

Do I need to be home during service?

No. As long as we can access the pool and equipment, we complete the visit and send you a report.

Are chemicals included?

We offer plans with standard chemicals included. Specialty treatments are quoted separately.

Pool Opening Service

When should I book my pool opening?

February or March is ideal. April and May slots fill quickly.

How long until I can swim after opening?

Usually a few days, depending on water condition. Clear water can be ready within 24 to 48 hours.

What if my pool is green when the cover comes off?

We treat it with a green-to-clean recovery until the water is clear and balanced.

Pool Closing & Winterizing

When should I close my pool in New Jersey?

Usually late September through mid-October, once water temperature drops below about 65F.

Should the pump run in winter?

On a fully winterized pool the pump is off and drained. Some pools keep circulation with freeze protection - we set this up based on your equipment.

Is a safety cover worth it?

For most families, yes. A mesh safety cover keeps children and pets out of the pool all winter.

One-Time Pool Service & Green-to-Clean

How long does it take to clear a green pool?

Typically 2 to 5 days depending on severity.

Do I need a contract?

No. One-time services are booked individually.

Can you find out why my pool keeps turning green?

Yes. A diagnostic visit checks circulation, filtration, chemistry and equipment to find the root cause.

Pool Inspections

Is a pool included in a regular home inspection?

Usually only at a surface level. A dedicated pool inspection goes much deeper into equipment and safety.

How long does an inspection take?

Typically 1 to 2 hours depending on the pool and equipment.

Will I get a written report?

Yes, with photos and recommendations.

Pool Leak Detection

How much water loss is normal?

In NJ summer weather, losing up to about a quarter inch per day to evaporation can be normal. More than that suggests a leak.

Can you fix leaks too?

We repair equipment pad and fitting leaks directly. For major underground or structural repairs we provide a clear recommendation and estimate.

Does a leak damage my equipment?

It can. Low water levels can cause pumps to run dry and heaters to fault.

Pool Safety Covers

Which is better for New Jersey, mesh or solid?

Both work well. Mesh is lower maintenance; solid keeps water cleaner. We help you choose based on your trees and preferences.

How long does a safety cover last?

Many years with proper installation and care.

Can you replace anchors in my deck?

Yes. We replace and add anchors as needed.

Pool Liner Replacement

How much does pool liner replacement cost in NJ?

Cost depends on pool size and shape, liner thickness and pattern, and whether walls, floor or steps need repair. We provide a written quote after measuring.

How long does a liner replacement take?

Installation itself typically takes one to two days, plus time to refill the pool with water.

How long does a vinyl liner last?

Most inground vinyl liners last around 8 to 12 years. Balanced water chemistry and sun protection help them last longer.

Pool Renovation & Remodeling

Can you renovate a pool someone else built?

Yes. Most of our renovation work is on pools built by other companies.

Do pool renovations need a permit in NJ?

Electrical work and many structural changes require permits from your municipality. We coordinate them for you.

What renovation gives the best return?

Variable-speed pumps, LED lighting and automation usually deliver the most noticeable improvement in daily use and operating cost.
